Norman Dilthey

Founder of Koana Labs. Software engineer at heart.

I like digging into complex problems. I look at how a business really runs, where work gets stuck, and what AI can concretely change. Then I build the system and write the code myself.

I work best with engaged teams who know their processes better than anyone. That is how the project at Rheinbahn started, and it is still how I take on new work.

Selected work

Document AI at Rheinbahn Düsseldorf

Rheinbahn processes tens of thousands of school certificates and Deutschlandticket applications a year. I built the system that reads them: handwriting, stamps and forms go in, checked data comes out, and a clerk reviews it instead of typing it. In production since September 2026, a school certificate takes about 20 seconds instead of about five minutes. The next step is processing them fully automatically.

AI phone assistant

A voice agent that answers calls, captures new client requests and hands them over, so no call goes unanswered.
